Gavilan College launches search for new Superintendent/President

The Gavilan College Board of Trustees has launched the search for a new Superintendent/President to replace Steven M. Kinsella, who has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the fiscal year. Kinsella has served in that position for the past thirteen years.
In a letter to all college staff, the Board of Trustees asked "that you join us in honoring the great leadership of Dr. Kinsella, and share in our enthusiasm for selecting the next superintendent/president of Gavilan College.
The Board will be conducting the search with the assistance of PPL Inc, who will be facilitating and guiding the district during this process. The consultant will work with the Board's Presidential Search Subcommittee, comprised of Trustees Kent Child, Laura Perry, and Walt Glines. The subcommittee will also be assisted by college staff. They hope to have a new president hired by Summer 2016.
The search process will include the convening of a Screening Committee, made up of college staff, students, faculty, and managers, who will review applications and make recommendations of candidates to interview.  A subset of that committee, augmented by community representatives, will constitute the first Interview Panel. Semi-finalists from the first round of interviews will be subsequently interviewed by the full Board of Trustees, who will then make their selection.
