Course Description

This course is designed to practice listening and speaking skills through the use of selected films. The course highlights different intercultural issues and aspects of American culture, and students enhance their listening and speaking skills by means of authentic discourse. Because film provides a real sample of speech in a multi- dimensional experience, ESL learners can experience the language in a more complete manner while analyzing cultural issues. This is a pass/no pass course. ADVISORY: ESL 541 or ESL Assessment recommendation.
